I am feeling deeply affected by what we humans are doing to each other and the natural world and working out my response to that, where I fit in. How deep grief can sit with great joy. How my privilege interacts with it all. How we can’t go on as business as usual but how do we create something new from business-as-usual structures and thinking? What do I do is in itself a question arising from our existing paradigm – maybe there is nothing ‘to do’ and something ‘to be’. I am continuously learning and discovering through my own reading, studying and unlearning. I offer this to say I will walk alongside you bringing my perspective, my tools, my skills. Not as an expert who has the answers but a learner journeying with you on the same path.
They are giving me a different perspective. Helping me shift my perspective from the short termism I have been educated in (what do I want to do now) towards a longer term. I am blown away when I try, even for a moment to think of in seven generations time, as many of our wiser human peers suggest.
My coaching and facilitation are grounded in a responsibility to the natural world and each other for the long term future.
I had been educated to rely solely on my head; my mind, my intellect, my sharp critical and analytical thinking. My background is in Science (BSc in Neuroscience) and International Development (MSc International Development and Health). With his gentle wisdom, in the hard last weeks of my dad’s life, I was offered another way of knowing. From the heart. My dad was a smart man but not academically educated. He was blind from birth and had incredible intuition. In his passing, I felt a challenge being passed to me – what does your heart have to say? I’ve been curiously studying that question ever since. I will bring my curiosity around your heart and your body’s wisdom to our work.
I bring 20 years of experience facilitating leadership and change programmes and workshops with now thousands of participants. I am trained in Intuitive Coaching to ICF Professional Certified Coaching (PCC) level with Lilith Flanagan at Evolution Coaching Academy. As both a facilitator and coach I work with warmth, kindness and laser like focus to provide a space where people feel safe enough to unravel a little to then weave a different pattern to bring about change. I bring challenge with these qualities so that things that are hard to acknowledge or confront seem a little easier. I have studied with Tara Mohr to be a facilitator of her Playing Big work – a set of life changing tools to support people to take up more space when following their callings. I bring this experience and training to you, to draw upon as we go.
This truly inspires me. I want to live with purpose, kindness and integrity. I want to be able to answer the imagined questions from my imagined grandchildren ‘what were you thinking and doing when it was clear the world’s systems were in crisis’ with grace and honesty. I also have the dishwasher to unload, a School Trip form to fill in and a mum to care for. I offer this to say my work is grounded in balance.
What matters to you and how do you bring balance to your life to prioritise that?
